H. P. Lovecraft

The life

A reclusive Providence writer who published in pulp magazines for a few dollars a story and died unknown. His letters, tens of thousands of them, did as much to build his reputation as the fiction.

He invented cosmic horror: the fear of being irrelevant rather than threatened.
