Samuel Taylor Coleridge

“Water, water, every where, / Nor any drop to drink.”
The life

Poet, critic and opium addict whose best poems came from dreams and could not be finished. He wrote Kubla Khan after waking from one and was interrupted by a visitor.

He gave English poetry its taste for the strange, and criticism its idea of the imagination.
